Looking at Shorty’s Place from the outside, a person might wonder how a bar can fit inside the 24-by-30-foot long building. What the structure lacks in size, however, it certainly makes up for in atmosphere. Only in a local place like Shorty’s can a person enter and, as the theme song for the television series “Cheers” once said, “Everybody knows your name.”
If a visitor is lucky enough, they may just be greeted by the owner, Sheryl Peters, affectionately known as “Shorty” to her friends and patrons, with a hearty, “How are ya! Welcome to Shorty’s Place!”
