Last month, Warren “Dub,” our 12-year-old grandson, was excited over a fishing class at Port Charlotte Middle School one night a week for its students. For $12, each enrollee gets to attend eight sessions and will receive $130 in free fishing gear.
That value was a small miracle to Laurel, our daughter, a single mom. If his class notebook is an example, I’ll get some pointers from Dub when we fish together. Catching more and bigger fish should reduce our family’s food expenses.
