Orchid lovers, plant lovers, flower lovers and peace lovers will love Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota. (That’s a lot of love, but it’s true.)

Selby Gardens sits on 14-plus acres overlooking Sarasota Bay and the Hudson Bayou. William and Marie Selby bought seven acres on the bay and built a two-story home there in the early 1920s. William died in 1956, followed by Marie in 1971.
