The J.N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge attracts birdwatchers from all over the world. As beautiful as the refuge is, it will take at least a half-day with a minimum of two hours spent in the car driving to and from Sanibel Island.
Myakka River State Park also offers some of the best bird-watching in the area, which is why many people flock there as well.
