Charlotte State Bank & Trust Punta Gorda office Branch Manager Alyson Burch, center, stands in front of the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Mobile, with Alzheimer’s program specialist Linda Howard and colleague Bob Wierman, left. Joining them is Allen R. Jones, who works for the Tampa Bay Rays during spring training and the Charlotte Stone Crabs during their baseball season. Jones was one of 22 people who took advantage of a free memory screening offered aboard the custom-built vehicle at the Punta Gorda branch recently. The Memory Mobile, which services all of Southwest Florida and was financed with funds raised in Charlotte and DeSoto counties, is the only mobile support, prevention and education service-delivery vehicle in the country. In addition to screenings, the Memory Mobile provides outreach education, care consultations and caregiver support.
