Irma Nemetz, an Army Nurse Corps Vietnam-era veteran and a member of the Vietnam Brotherhood Delta Company, sells a chance at the recent Quilt Show for a quilt she made to benefit a permanent 50 percent replica of the national Vietnam Memorial Wall in the Kiwanis Memorial Garden area of Laishley Park in Punta Gorda.

They are selling $10 raffle tickets for a well-stocked Bucket 'o' Cheer, worth nearly $500. Proceeds will be donated to Special Olympics Florida — Charlotte County, the Jammers Youth Basketball League, and Girls on the Run of Southwest Florida. Today, Kallis German Butcher in Port Charlotte will celebrate 29 years of service to its local and area patrons. The shop offers a myriad of European delicacies, and, according to staff, all its sausages and luncheon meats are produced locally, sans preservatives and artificial ingredients.
