Dr. Vance Wright Browne, who is an oncologist with Florida Cancer Specialists, was the speaker at the Celebrate Life Ladies Cancer Support Group in Punta Gorda recently. Browne discussed upcoming new approaches to diagnoses and treatment of cancer. The Bicycle Center and Trek Bikes recently played host to their annual Ladies Night. The evening started with cocktails, appetizers and chair massages. Local cycling clubs were invited to introduce themselves to the attendees, and to speak about their clubs. Four cyclists modeled the latest fashions and walked the runway. Voices for Kids executive director Darlene Ann Grossman joins Nick Ciletti and Kathleen Davey to help celebrate Voices for Kids of Southwest Florida raising $31,000 through area fundraising events. Congratulations Mark Asciutto, owner of Visani’s Comedy Dinner Theater in Port Charlotte. His restaurant recently received a community service award from CIA Carter Insurance Agency, according to a press release from the agency.
Visani’s was selected for the award based on its outstanding support of nonprofit organizations, and an ongoing commitment to improving the lives of the citizens of Charlotte County. According to Stephen Carter, president of the insurance agency, Visani’s was selected because of the charity fundraisers it has been conducting for nearly a decade.
