The Arts & Humanities Council’s newest member and the community’s newest choral group, Bion Cantorum presents its maiden concert on July 4. The concert, “Let Freedom Ring,” takes place at 4 p.m. at the Cultural Center Theater.
The word Bion translates from Japanese as “beautiful sound.” The group is dedicated to providing beautiful, exciting music to local residents. With that mission in mind, its first concert will include Randall Thompson’s “Testament of Freedom,” “I Hear America Singing,” by Andre Thomas, Martins’ “A Prayer for Our Time,” and patriotic standards such as Wilhousky’s “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” The program will also feature guest performances from local veterans and the Windmill Village Dancers.
