July 1 — Tuesday — marks the start of a new era, as Edison State College officially becomes Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW). Over the last six months, college staff and students have been preparing for launch day, which will be celebrated in true Buccaneer spirit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at all campus locations. The new purple-and-aqua color scheme will be blanketing the entire region.
In Charlotte, visitors will have the opportunity for a taste of campus life by enjoying a free barbecue lunch and other refreshments. Students will operate a Buccaneer costume-themed photo booth, and will offer giveaways for FSW T-shirts, hats, Frisbees and backpacks. The campus bookstore will be open and stocked with new branded merchandise. Prospective or returning students may inquire about admissions, scheduling, financial aid and scholarships. Staff will offer campus tours.
