Charlotte County has aged since the 2010 Census.
A report released Thursday by the U.S. Census Bureau showed the median age of county residents as of July 1, 2013, increased to 57.5 from 55.9 in 2010. The graying trend is the result of an influx of older residents, longer lifespans among existing residents and a drop in school-age residents over that period.
