We learned this past March that my paid disability from the United Methodist Church would end July 1. My wife Jan immediately began looking for ways to tighten our monthly budget. She found a new plan where we could cut phone costs. With it, the monthly basic charges we’d been paying for cellphones our family members used would be shared equally by everyone.
Not everyone was as happy with the change as Jan and I were, because each subscriber now paid his/her own bill! But once they learned we’d paid a disproportionate share of the monthly bills for five years, each family member took their own financial responsibility.
