During World War II, when my father was fighting overseas, my mother bought a farmhouse on 5 acres at the edge of town. They farmed the land until I was 10. Then my dad built prefabricated homes there and developed a subdivision.
Houses and farms make a good introduction for my final “Metaphors for the Church” columns. Today’s column will equate the Church to a house. Next week, we’ll see how the Church parallels a field.
