Pay bump for school workers

Bargaining between Charlotte County Public Schools and the Charlotte County Support Personnel Association resulted in a tentative agreement Monday, bringing resolution to what has been an emotional issue for many of the county’s non-instructional staff.

“A lot of people started smiling today,” Peggy Hornbake, a paraprofessional who monitors in-school suspension at Charlotte High School, said Tuesday. “They were happy. I think it’s giving us hope that it’s going to get better and not worse.”
