MURDOCK — The Charlotte County School Board approved agreements with local colleges Tuesday that, for the first time, require the district to pay tuition for students to take college classes.
The change is the result of a new law mandating that school districts pay colleges for dual-enrollment courses on college campuses. Districts will not have to pay for dual-enrollment classes on high school campuses. The new costs are incurred entirely by the districts, and students will not have to pay for dual-enrollment courses.
