City to award flood mitigation contract
The Punta Gorda City Council will vote Wednesday on a recommendation from city staff to award Naples-based Quality Enterprises USA a $1.47 million contract for the construction of Phase 2 of the downtown flood mitigation project.
The project, which will be funded in large part by a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, aims to stem flooding in older, low-lying residential neighborhoods in the city’s downtown by improving the overall stormwater drainage system.
