The selling price of single-family homes throughout the region continued to climb skyward last month, compared with a year ago, but upcoming changes in the tax law and insurance rates could shatter a fragile marketplace.
The median sales price for single-family homes sold in Sarasota County in November was up 20.6 percent over the same period last year, according to the Sarasota Association of Realtors. The median price — that at which half the homes sold for more, half for less — was $187,000 last month, compared with $155,000 in November 2012.
