Truck damages I-75 overpass

Traffic was backed up on Interstate 75 on Monday following an equipment accident on the University Parkway overpass that shutdown all south bound lanes for a few hours. A single south bound lane was re-opened late Monday and all north bound lanes remain open.
SARASOTA COUNTY — Florida Department of Transportation officials re-opened one southbound lane of Interstate 75 Monday afternoon following an incident that shut down the highway and the University Parkway overpass.
According to FDOT spokeswoman Lauren Hatchell, the single southbound lane was re-opened around 3 p.m. after all southbound lanes were closed around 12:30 p.m. Northbound lanes remained open all day.
