Charlotte County Sheriff’s Economic Crimes Unit detectives are requesting the public’s assistance to identify a woman who used a credit card taken from a vehicle burglary in North Port at a Port Charlotte convenience store in February.

On Feb. 3, a Manatee County woman reported to the North Port Police Department that someone had illegally entered her vehicle while it was parked overnight within its jurisdiction. During the investigation, officers learned the victim’s credit card was used at about 4:19 a.m. that day at the Shell gas station at 1783 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte. They referred the use of the credit card investigation to the CCSO Economic Crimes Unit.
