PORT CHARLOTTE — Members of the Narcotics Unit arrested two people Thursday on narcotics and firearms charges as the result of a search warrant served at their address. Members of the Narcotics Unit served a search warrant at a dwelling on Longley Drive in Port Charlotte that was occupied by Marlon Jeffrey Taylor, 30, and Shannon Lynne Diehm, 29. During the search, detectives located both cocaine and marijuana in various locations in the duplex residence. They also located several firearms and ammunition, including a sawed-off shotgun and a handgun that had the serial numbers removed. Taylor was determined to be a convicted felon, prohibited to be in possession of any firearms.
Taylor was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm with serial number removed, possession of cocaine, possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held at the Charlotte County Jail without bond pending his first appearance hearing. Diehm was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was being held on a total $7,500 bond.
