Brenda Reyes remembers fondly the Easter traditions she celebrated as a child growing up in the Philippines.
Good Friday, Christianity’s most solemn day of observance, was always a time for reflection, when family members talked in whispers or barely talked at all, she recalled. There was no television watching, no listening to the radio, and no laughing on Good Friday, she said.
