PUNTA GORDA — With the approach of next month’s jury trial to determine damages in the Rotonda II sewer case, Charlotte County continues to receive encouraging news on limiting the financial compensation to be paid.
Twentieth Judicial Circuit Judge Joseph Foster on Thursday rejected a plaintiff’s motion that sought reimbursement for municipal service benefit unit fees given to the county over a 15-year period. The court ruled that the owners of 1,000 lots in Rotonda Villas were obligated to pay the assessments, despite being denied building permits.
