Aubrey O. Romeo

Aubrey O. Romeo, 92, of Port Charlotte, Fla., formerly of New York, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013.

He was born in Trinidad, West Indies, March 29, 1921, to James and Matilda (nee Stephen) Romeo.

Mr. Romeo came from Trinidad in 1950 and he worked over 20 years of his life for New York City Transit. He moved to Port Charlotte in 1992, and he was a member of St. James Episcopal Church and the Brotherhood.

Mr. Romeo is survived by his sons, Lateef Chike and Fitzroy Romeo; brother, Gerald Romeo; grandchildren, Omari, Ain, Nkosi, Anastasia, Bunny, Roseann, Amelia, Jesinta, Ambrose, Osweld, and Rampel; 20 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; niece, Valerie; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family will receive friends and neighbors from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at St. James Episcopal Church, 1365 Viscaya Drive, Port Charlotte, FL 33952. Service will follow at 11 a.m. at St James Episcopal Church. Burial with escort will follow after service to Charlotte Memorial Cemetery for burial.

Arrangements are by Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, Crematory and Cemetery.
