Janet Lee Evarts, 68, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at home surrounded by her family, after a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 8, 1945, in Berwyn, Ill., to Mr. and Mrs. James J. Cuber Sr.
A former resident of Norwalk, Conn., Janet and her husband Ward were winter residents of Charlotte County, Fla., for many years, becoming permanent residents in 2012.
Janet is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Ward G. Evarts; two daughters, Deborah Vasquez of Bridgeport, Conn., and Stacey (Walter III) Jchick of Monroe, Conn.; she also leaves behind three stepchildren, Scott Evarts of Norwalk, Richard (Laurie) Evarts of Alpharetta, Ga., and Tracey (Daniel) Driscoll of Boxborough, Mass.; three brothers, Martin Cuber of New York, James (Andrea) Cuber Jr. of Greenville, S.C., and Wayne Cuber of Norwalk; as well as 13 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Janet’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A gathering and celebration of Janet’s life will be held in the upcoming spring of 2014 in Norwalk. Friends may visit www.robersonfh.com to sign the memory book and extend condolences to the family.
