Valora “Ann” Wells, 71, of Punta Gorda, Fla., went to meet her heavenly father, Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, Fla.
She was born May 3, 1942, in Louisville, Ky., to Alvin and Mary Lee Edwards.
Ann was a longtime resident of Punta Gorda, and a member of the Country Pride Band for many years, where she performed locally. She was featured on keyboards as female vocalist, before retiring. Ann worked for Dr. Jerome Cohen for over 25 years, and enjoyed playing an active role with regard to patient care.
Her passion and delight was cooking for and entertaining family and friends. Ann’s children and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she loved sharing their stories.
She is survived by her husband, Hudson Wells; daughter, Sonja Zielstorff; son, Wesley Wells; five grandchildren, Shailyn Zielstorff, Shelby Law, Shawna Zielstorff, Chelsey Wells and Hunter Wells, all of Punta Gorda; five sisters, Brenda Cook of Austin, Texas, Alvina Eldridge of Port Charlotte, Marsha Sloan of Palm Harbor, Fla., Cindy Cash of West Frankfort, Ill., and Gina Lakes of Grand Junction, Colo.; three brothers, Tom Edwards of South Bend, Ind., Bill Edwards of Mishawaka, Ind., and Terry Edwards of Shepherdsville, Ky.; as well as other loving relatives and friends.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at Church of God of Prophecy, 662 Cooper St., Punta Gorda, with the Rev. Tom Edwards officiating.
