Jean Pokora, 88, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013.
She was born Nov. 3, 1925, in Milwaukee, Wis., the daughter of Frank and Anna Bartow.
Jean earned her Bachelor’s in teaching from Dominican College in Racine, Wis., and taught school for many years in Oak Creek, Wis. She married the love of her life, Gilbert Pokora, in 1944, and moved to Port Charlotte in 1986 after retiring.
Jean will be greatly missed by her son, Gregory (Gail) Pokora; sister-in-law, Arlene (Richard) Lesniewski; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Gilbert; a brother; two sisters; a sister-in-law; and a brother-in-law.
