Carl E. “J.C.” Goebel, 82, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2013.
He was born June 4, 1931, in Detroit, Mich., and moved to this area in 1983 from Mt. Clemens, Mich.
Mr. Goebel was a retired Iron Worker and was employed at the Burnt Store Marina Golf and Activity Club for over 15 years. He was natural athletic, an avid bowler, golfer and softball player and was a member of the Burnt Store Presbyterian Church in Punta Gorda.
Mr. Goebel is survived by his wife, Hellen (nee Pooch); daughters, Maureen (Dallas) Moon of W. Sussex, and Janet (Mark Leone) Miller of Sterling Heights, Mich.; son, Larry; step-children, Theresa (Joseph) Toia of Shelby Township, Mich., Gina (Dave) Maiorana of Rochester Hills, Mich., and Paul (Carolyn) Rossi of Warren, Mich.; 23 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Glenn; and sisters, Charlotte and Shirley.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Burnt Store Presbyterian Church in Punta Gorda. Memorial donations may be made to Burnt Store Presbyterian Church, 11330 Burnt Store Road, Punta Gorda, FL 33955.
