Joanne Taylor, 77, passed peacefully Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at the Tidewell Care Center in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.

She was born in 1936 in Seville, Ohio.

Joanne and her husband Charles moved to Holmes Beach, Fla., in 1965, and owned Island Rental Service for 21 years. Once retired, Joanne and Charles traveled throughout the United States, until his death in 1998.

Joanne, having relocated to Zolfo Springs, Fla., met Thomas Muir, and over the 15 years they were together, enjoyed traveling many places around the USA, the Caribbean and over 22 countries around the world. Joanne loved to read, quilt, and especially make handiwork items for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joanne is survived by her significant other, Thomas Muir of Zolfo Springs; her daughters, Tina (nee Taylor) Wood and Linda Taylor; grandchildren Danielle (nee Wood) McRoberts, Christopher Wood and Charlie Taylor Gianiotes; great-grandchildren, Aaden and Annabelle, all of Bradenton, Fla.; and her brothers, Gale Norton and Clair Norton Jr.

In accordance with Joanneā€™s wishes, there will be no services, and her ashes will be scattered in the mountains of North Carolina, where she and Tom shared their summers. In her memory, donations can be made to Tidewell Hospice in Sarasota, Fla.
