Alfred E. Petzold, 94, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014.
He was born April 7, 1920, in the North Frisian Islands, Germany, and came to this country at age 5.
Alfred was a skilled machine tool builder and co-owner of H.R. Krueger Machine Tool in Farmington, Mich., where he retired. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Alfred is survived by his wife, Naomi Petzold of Punta Gorda, Fla.; sister-in-law, Jenny Spencer of Punta Gorda; sister, Marianne Reye of Traverse City, Mich.; his children, Jon Petzold of South Lyon, Mich., Susan Armstrong of Pinckney, Mich., and Bill Petzold of Howell, Mich.; stepsons, John Curington of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Bruce Curington of Taylor, Mich.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Paul and Ottilie Petzold; and his sister, Irma Selvin.
Cremation will take place, then a Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Peace River Baptist Church, 478 Berry St., Punta Gorda.
