PORT CHARLOTTE — An impaired driver who was holding up traffic is accused of hitting a Sheriff’s Office volunteer’s car while trying to flee, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.
James Rodriguez, 37, of Riverview, Fla., was allegedly delaying traffic around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Cochran Boulevard and Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte. The person who reported the incident said the driver’s head appeared to be down.
