Rays pick Price for opening day

PORT CHARLOTTE — It was a formality, but now it’s official: David Price will be the opening-day starter for the Tampa Bay Rays on March 31 against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Manager Joe Maddon, jokingly, said the decision took “many hours of discussion and back and forth among the staff and front office and on my Twitter account.”
