PORT CHARLOTTE — Pretty much anything Matt Moore did on the mound Thursday was going to be a positive compared to his last outing.

Moore got lit up for six runs (four earned) over 2⁄3 inning in his last appearance against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday, but fared much better against them on Thursday. The left-hander pitched 31⁄3 scoreless innings in the Rays’ 4-1 win, giving up two hits and three walks.
