BRADENTON — The mantra is the same from Little League to the majors: If your team is holding a lead late in the game and a ball is put in play, you have to make sure to get at least one out.
The Charlotte Stone Crabs had a chance to make the one out that could have changed the course of their game on Wednesday. They had a three-run lead with one out in the bottom of the ninth, and Bradenton Marauders center fielder Jeff Roy had just dribbled a slow ground ball up the first base line.
