PORT CHARLOTTE—After three straight months of seemingly endless mock drafts, predictions, rumors and speculation, the 2014 NFL draft is finally in the books.
It was one of the most talked-about drafts in recent history. The NFL pushed it back two weeks from its normal date — the last weekend in April — to this past Thursday, giving the draft time to build more hype than ever. And it worked. Thursday’s first round drew 9.9 million viewers, blowing 2010’s record high of 7.3 million out of the water.
