PUNTA GORDA — The Charlotte High School wrestling team wants to set the tone for a championship season at today’s Captain Archer Memorial Classic.
Thanks to the FHSAA pushing the start of wrestling season back by nearly a month, this edition of the Captain Archer tournament comes on the second week of the season, a difference from when it fell about a month into the season in recent years. With it coming so early, the Tarpons plan to use it to send a message to their opponents that they’re here to win a regional title.
