AVON PARK — Text messages on a cellphone led to a woman being arrested, according to a warrant released Wednesday.
Monica Celebrano, 26, 501 E. Circle St., Avon Park, was arrested by the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office and charged with conspiracy to commit a felony crime and use of a two-way communications device to facilitate the commission of a felony.
The warrant said that when Celebrano was arrested in October 2016, she gave a cell phone to another woman.
That other woman later provided authorities with the cellphone and prescription medicine that was prescribed to Celebrano, the warrant said.
The cell phone contained messages to and from Celebrano that talked about illegal drugs, the warrant said.
In some text messages, Celebrano offered to sell the pills at $3 per pill instead of the supposedly normal price of $5 per pill, the warrant said. The prescription medicine provided to authorities was the same type of drug being offered for sale on the cellphone, authorities said.
Authorities also heard jail telephone calls in which Celebrano talked about smoking drugs, the warrant said.
