CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) — A replica gun at a South Florida school led to police in tactical gear swarming the campus.
The Sun Sentinel reports that Coral Springs officers responded Thursday to J.P. Taravella High School.
Students spent about two hours barricaded in classrooms as police searched for a reported gunman. Police say the fake gun belonged to a freshman boy, who was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor count of disrupting the school day.
No injuries were reported.
