SEBRING — The 4-million-box drop in the Florida citrus estimate, although another blow to the industry, came as no surprise to local growers.
“It’s not unexpected to those of us that have seen the crop out there,” said Ray Royce, executive director of the Highlands County Citrus Growers Association. “We knew when they had that original number, it was kind of high.”
