SEBRING — Tampa attorney John Anthony, who has bought and restored the 99-year-old Highlands Bank and Trust building on the Circle in Downtown Sebring, will be the speaker at the Sebring Historical Society’s quarterly luncheon meeting at noon Saturday, Jan. 20. Anthony will be joined by his 86-year-old father, Al Anthony, who has been with him every step of the way during the restoration project.

John Anthony will speak about the challenges he faced in getting the project underway. These included removing seven tons of trash, including unsold items left over from the many years when the Society of St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store occupied the building. There were also unexpected delays in construction, and more changes required than he had originally planned for.
