You may have heard the saying, “It’s better to give than to receive.” We seem to hear it more often this time of the year, usually as we’re buying presents for others. Maybe, a little more so when we’re buying for someone who we think won’t return the favor. I wonder, of those who express this sentiment, how many truly mean it? Let me ask you this. Wouldn’t you love to be generous with your money but don’t feel like you have enough to even pay the bills?
As is often my custom on the weekends, I was listening to Andy Stanley’s weekly podcast, which can be found at yourmove.is. His current series is titled “Crazy Like Us,” which aims to teach people to be crazy in their generosity. Most people, when they hear something like this immediately put their hand on their wallet or purse thinking it’s a message on money. In this case, it isn’t. Stanley aims to teach people to be generous in all phases of their lives.
