As a writer, I am forever writing — or should I say, tapping — things down. Whether it’s an intriguing topic like a Great White Shark named George stalking the Everglades or possible watermarks to watch for on costume jewelry I might be thrift shopping, my phone holds all sorts of random goodies. In addition to these possible column prompts, my family and friends are used to the refrain, “I am so stealing this for my writing.”
Whether it’s the particular way someone holds their head while laughing, a phrase too good to be true or advice I’m actually planning to take, I gather it like a treasure for later reflection. Last fall I had an opportunity to add a real gem to my collection. To live long and have a life that flourishes all you have to do is P.E.A.R.M.
