LAKE PLACID — Ruth Bogart Mosier was born Feb. 21, 1918 in Lightstreet, Pen. to John R. and Lillian Ball Bogart. As frequently happened in those days, Ruth’s Mother passed away at 30 years of age. About 1925, her Daddy, who owned a butcher shop at the time, sold the business and moved to Hialeah, Florida to get rich in the “Florida Boom.” When the boom busted, the family returned to Pennsylvania. Ruth graduated from Berwick High School in 1935. She married Stanley Mortimer (Mort) Mosier in 1939, moved to their farm in Millville, Pen. and spent the next 20 years at home raising their family of five children.

In 1974, after 35 years of marriage, Mort passed away suddenly from a heart attack. Ruth continued working until age 74, when she retired from the working world.
