Dance to the Movies at SFSC

"Dance to the Movies" comes to the Alan Jay Wildstein Center for the Performing Arts at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21.

AVON PARK — On March 21, the Alan Jay Wildstein Center for the Performing Arts Center at South Florida State College presents Dance to the Movies, featuring special guests from “Dancing with the Stars” celebrity pros Dmitry Chaplin and Anna Trebunskaya and “So You Think You Can Dance” top finalists Jonathan Platero and Randi Strong; “America’s Got Talent” aerialist Antonio Martinez; England’s “Strictly Come Dancing” finalist Oksana Platero; and vocalists Vonzell Solomon and Von Smith from “American Idol.” Featured choreographers include “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Dancing With The Stars” Jaymz Tuaileva, Lacey Schwimmer and Chelsie Hightower.

In a celebration of Hollywood’s best musical moments on the silver screen, Dance to the Movies re-creates and reinvents memorable moments from classic films such as “West Side Story,” “Grease,” “Chicago,” “Singin’ in the Rain” and “Moulin Rouge.” Choreography to scores from “Titanic,” “The Matrix,” “Willy Wonka” and “Harry Potter” will also be performed.
