SEBRING — Jose Santiago said he had never seen anything like it before as he looked in wonderment at a controlled burn conducted by the Florida Forest Service during the midday Tuesday in Sun ‘N Lake, Sebring.

“I think it is awesome; I have never seen this before,” he said. “Every time I have seen a fire it was in a structure in New York. We don’t see fires like this; this is new to me.”
