School bus stopped due to onboard fight

A bus route from Hill Gustat Middle School was interrupted on Thursday afternoon when two young ladies were fighting on the bus. HCSO eventually handed the girls off to their parents and their Principal will receive referals.

SEBRING — A bright yellow Highlands County school bus along with patrol cars with lights flashing was an alarming sight on Thursday afternoon in lieu of recent events. Alert readers asked about it and the Highlands News-Sun set off to investigate the situation.

Hill-Gustat Middle School bus number 50 was following its usual route of dropping kids off at their bus stops when Sebring Police Department responded to a fight on the bus. The fight was between two female students amid a full bus. The bus parked in the parking lot of the north Sebring Publix at 3610 U.S. 27.
