Lucille ‘Lucy’ Johnson

Lucille Elizabeth “Lucy” Houser Murphy Johnson of Sebring, Florida (formerly from Lincoln, Illinois) passed away peacefully Nov. 28, 2017 at Vitas Hospice Center in Sebring surrounded by her loving family. Lucy was born Sept. 6, 1929, the daughter of Leo and Irene (Fitzpatrick) Houser, in St. Vincent, Minnesota.

Lucy’s life was best defined by her love and devotion to family, faith, and friends. She was an inspiration to all, courageous and positive to the very end.

Lucy was incredibly proud of her six children who are left to cherish her momory, Linda Hartnett (late Robert) of Blanchord, Idaho, Jerry “Michael” Murphy (Patsy) of Elizabethtown, Illinois, Patti Licausi of Sebring, Florida, Kathy Ramlow (Rick)of Lincoln, Illinois, Debbie Schaefer (late Scott) of Carmel, Indiana, and Vince Johnson of Lincoln, Illinois. Lucy was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Lucy leaves behind five sisters, Vergie LeDul of Vancouver, Washington, Dorothy Tangman (Don) of San Jose, Illinois, Donna Hanson (Merlyn) of Neenah, Wisconsin, Lois Sauter (Dan) of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Elaine Ball (Wayne) of Apple Valley, Minnesota; also a special friend, William “Bill” Tebrugge, of Sebring, Florida.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Lloyd Houser; one sister, Leona Houser; husbands, Keith Murphy and Forrest Johnson; and two sons-in-law, Bob Hartnett and Scott Schaefer.

Lucy’s wishes were to be cremated and there will be no funeral or memorial services. Memorials may be made in Lucy’s name to Samaritans Touch Care Center, 3015 Herring Ave., Sebring, FL 33870; 863-471-1870.
