Betty L. Askin, 91, of Sebring, Florida, died Dec. 14 in Sebring. She was born in Miami, Florida and had worked at Little River Bank, Little River, Florida. Betty moved to Highlands County in the early 1970s and was a member of First Baptist Church, Avon Park.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Max Askin; sister, Lois J. Moss; brother, James L. Rogers; and a nephew, Donald Moss. She is survived by a loving family: sister, Shirley Whidden; nephews and nieces, Richard Bilyard, Roger Moss, James F. Whidden II, Debbie Brown, Richard Whidden, Cyndi Garcia, Jerry Whidden and Jay Rogers; numerous great nieces and nephews.
Betty will be placed next to her husband Max at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. Visitation, 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18 at First Baptist Church of Avon Park with services to follow at 3 p.m. Memorials are requested to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church, Avon Park.
