Lester ‘Tinker’ Bennett

Lester Marion “Tinker” Bennett, age 73, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on May 13, 1944 to the late Vernon W. and Elouise (McDavid) Bennett. Tinker was a veteran serving with the U.S. Air Force Canine Unit. He was the owner of Bennett Electrical Services in Sebring where he was devoted to his work. Tinker enjoyed the outdoors and hunting.

He is survived by his daughters, Monika Prestwood (Jay) and Michelle Kelley (Steve), both of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, and Leslie Bennett (Jason) of Bradenton; brother, Vernon “Butch” Bennett Jr. of Daytona Beach; and seven grandchildren, Peri, Mitchell, Cole, Dylan, Chloe, Anthony “AJ” and Santana. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Connie (Elder) Bennett.

There will be a memorial service at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017. The family will receive friends beginning at 5 p.m. Services entrusted to Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, 4001 Sebring Parkway, Sebring, FL 33870. Online condolences may be left at www.stephensonnelsonfh.com.
