Viola Elizabeth Hollenberg Swank, 88, died Dec. 19, 2017 at her home in Hesston, Kansas. She was born Aug. 21, 1929 in Sebring, Florida, the daughter of John H. and Ada Dunning Hollenberg. She graduated high school in Indiana. She was a homemaker. She married Harry Kenton Swank Jr. on Jan. 1, 1950 in Sebring, Florida. He died Dec. 3, 2013.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth (Barbara) Swank of Eustis, Florida and Don (Cheri) Swank of Hesston, Kansas; four daughters, Barbara (Arlon) Fishburn of Hesston, Kathy (Gene) Ewert of Neodesha, Kansas, Carol (Bryan) Unruh of Fort Worth, Texas, and Wanda (Scott) Miller, also of Hesston, Kansas; a brother, Ralph Hollenberg of Sebring, Florida; two sisters, Edna Rutkosky of Sebring, Florida and Dorothy Light of Columbia, Pennsylvania; 24 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, George Hollenberg.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017 at Kingdom Life Ministries in Hesston with Pastor Scott Miller presiding. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date in Montana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sebring Church of the Brethren, in care of Miller-Ott Funeral Home, Hesston, Kansas.
