Anita C. Irons, 83, of Lake Placid, Florida went home to be with her Lord on Saturday morning, Dec. 16, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Anita was born on Aug. 19, 1934 to Alfredo and Florence Silva in New York City. She moved to Miami when she was very young and grew up and married Wesley K Irons. her childhood sweetheart. In 1991, they moved to Lake Placid where Anita was an active member of Leisure Lakes Baptist Church, and the Lake Placid Art League Co-Op. Anita enjoyed sewing, painting, camping and spending time with her family. Mrs. Irons had a passion for sewing and had professional seamstress skills who could sew most anything. She had a greater love for painting, which she enjoyed teaching at the Co-op and for pleasure.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Wesley K. Irons, and daughter, Amy Lee Carter. She is survived by her loving son, Mark E. Irons and his wife Cindy, and grandchildren Wesley, Melissa and her son Truth (a great-grandchild), Caleb, Jacob and his wife Nina, their son Darien (a great-grandchild), Marine PFC Mark Albert Irons, all of Orlando, and Matthew, Lydia, and Eva, all of Lake Placid. Anita is also survived by her daughter’s children, David Hernandez, his wife Amanda, their daughter Amy (a great-grandchild), all of Lake Placid, and Dylan Carter and Tiffany Carter, both of Sebring.
A service to celebrate Anita’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018 at Leisure Lakes Baptist Church, 808 Gardenia St., Lake Placid, with Pastor Don Roberts officiating. Anita loved vibrant colors and beautiful bright sunny days and specifically requested her service be filled with loved ones in vibrant colors.
