Cangs: New menu, new food, new Cangs

Halloween is over, but this 'Monster Roll' is popular all the time at Cangs: Avocado, shrimp tempura and cream cheese topped with fried krab, spicy mayo and eel sauce.

LAKE PLACID — Hurricane Irma took a swipe at the sign in front of Cangs: Asian Cuisine restaurant located at 415 US Highway 27 North, in Lake Placid. So, a banner is now displayed from the building. It announces that inside there’s a new menu and new foods. In fact, the new owner wants folks to know that it’s the ‘new Cangs.’

Recently, Chef Ben Chen, became the owner of Cangs. He brought with him a selection of all types of Asian foods he learned to prepare in New York. Cangs manager James Gao explains, “Originally the restaurant served traditional Chinese and Japanese dishes. But the ‘new Cangs’ has modernized the menu by offering a mix of today’s Asian items, like Mongolian beef, Thai Curry, and Ocean Blue Roll.
